sustainable building consultants

What we Believe

Our purpose is to enable businesses and organisations to become more sustainable and in doing so, to deliver real business benefits for our clients.

What makes us tick...

  • effecting real and measurable positive change for our clients
  • contributing to the improvement of our shared environment

What we believe...

  • that rather than there being a conflict between good business practice and sustainable business practice, the two are complementary
  • that the earth is a precious and finite resource of which we are the custodians for future generations
  • that all businesses, organisations and individuals should act in such a way as "meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."[2] Brundtland Commission

What we practice...

  • providing, via our website, information on improving the sustainability of buildings and lifestyles
  • presenting to schools and community organisations on how to make a positive difference
  • reducing our consumption of resources and materials
  • reusing materials and as a last resort recycling the maximum possible quantity of waste
  • staff travel by bicycle and public transport and for longer distances by overland and sea means, using air travel only as a last resort and offsetting it when it is necessary
  • collecting and publishing our environmental footprint statistics
  • donating a minimum of 10% of our profits to environmental charities

We are currently searching for a suitable business premises or site to refurbish or build upon to the highest standards of sustainability. In the creation and operation of this building, we will exceed best practice in:

Energy efficiency...

  1. CO2 emissions
  2. water usage
  3. materials sourcing and impact
  4. waste water
  5. waste
  6. pollution
  7. management
  8. ecology

This building will become an exemplar model of small scale development and we will provide access to it as an educational tool for school children and other public interest groups.

You can help!........If you have a premises which you think might prove appropriate for our needs or if you would like to discuss any joint venture for the creation of a shared space building which would enjoy the environmental credentials mentioned above and consequent financial benefits, please contact info@ecodomus.co.uk.

Our needs are for a minimum of 100m2 space, in the central or north London areas. If an existing building, it will ideally be in disrepair with roof elevations facing south to south east. Present planning use classes are unimportant as necessary consents will be obtained.
